Artists Unlimited Celebrates Grand Opening of New Rehearsal Space
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Take Place September 24 at 11:00 AM
Rochester, NY — After nearly 25 years of producing full-scale Broadway musicals featuring primarily developmentally disabled performers, Artists Unlimited is proud to announce the grand opening of their first-ever dedicated rehearsal space. Called Studio 44, it’s located at 4434 Dewey Avenue at the corner of Dewey Avenue and Latta Road.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at 11:00 am to mark this major milestone. Community members, local officials, media, and supporters are invited to attend.
This new home will allow Artists Unlimited to rehearse on their own schedule, no longer relying on rented or borrowed spaces dictated by availability. It represents not only a physical space, but also a symbol of growth, inclusion, and creative independence for the performers and the organization.
“Our performers pour their hearts, souls, and countless hours into every production,” said Tom Ricci, President of Artists Unlimited. “Now, they’ll finally have a space worthy of their passion, talent, and hard work.,” said Tom Ricci, president at Artists Unlimited.”
Recent productions include Beauty and the Beast, Willy Wonka, and Mary Poppins, all brought to life by a cast of individuals with developmental disabilities, supported by a team of volunteers and theater professionals. This year’s production is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, with performances November 7-9 and 14-15.
