ROC Industrial LLC New Location Ribbon Cutting Celebration!

Roc Industrial LLC was founded on a simple premise: to provide high-quality industrial parts at fair prices and deliver exceptional customer service. 
Emad Kadhim, the company’s president and co-founder, started the business in 2018 after he became tired of seeing businesses struggle to find reliable parts and affordable repairs, often facing long lead times and impersonal service.  

“We knew there had to be a better way,” he said.  His passion for industrial automation and commitment to exceeding customer expectations – along with support from his family and the firm’s employees – has helped the business grow. 

Roc Industrial recently moved to a 5,200-square-foot building in Rochester, which is roughly double the size of its former location on Monroe Avenue.  The industrial equipment supplier – which sells to customers across the U.S. and around the world – is now looking to expand its regional customer base, Kadhim said, noting the newly acquired building gives the firm the ability to better serve customers across the Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse region. The family-owned business supplies new, used and refurbished industrial parts – such as control systems, drives and servo motors and provides repair services for the manufacturing sector and other industries.  Additional services include product testing, tech support, delivery and assistance with disposing of defective equipment. Roc Industrial’s customer base ranges from small businesses and research and development departments to prototype manufacturers and industrial startups. Many are repeat customers.  The 10-person firm recently earned its ISO 9001:2015 certification, a globally recognized standard for quality management systems. 

Kadhim’s son and co-founder, Ahmad Hasan, noted that the standards such as the new ISO-certification provide a “strong road map for continual process improvements that will continue to ensure the best experience for our customers as we grow.” 

Kadhim and his wife, Ida, fled Iraq in the early 2000s. After briefly living in Syria, the family moved to the Rochester region.  The couple continued their education in Rochester, with Kadhim graduating from Monroe Community College with an A.A.S. degree in electronics engineering. He then worked as an engineering technician for several years at Classic Automation.  He originally operated Roc Industrial from his home in Henrietta with the help of his family – including all his children – and quickly outgrew the space.  The company’s current location fits its needs, he said, including its goals to increase local customers and work toward opportunities to secure government contracts.  

Roc Industrial is deeply rooted in the Rochester region, Kadhim noted, adding the business wants to do its part to support the community-at-large, including fostering the next generation of skilled trade workers.  The business is also heavily focusing on the repair side of the business.  With uncertainty over tariffs proposed, and enacted, by the federal administration, Kadhim believes Roc Industrial can help businesses extend the life of their current equipment, which could eliminate the need for new equipment that may need to be purchased overseas.   

In addition to current global economic uncertainties, companies had already been more hesitant when it comes to major purchases since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, he added.  
Kadhim believes Roc Industrial is well positioned to help companies navigate the current challenges.   “We are on the right path to grow and expand the business,” he said.
