Administrative Professional

This person should be reliable, organized, creative, versatile, and enjoy variety in their work as they assist staff and families. An optimal candidate is energetic, and independent, can easily handle a spectrum of administrative tasks, and is not afraid to learn new things.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Provides support for funeral service needs with a helpful, friendly attitude
  • Is skilled in the Microsoft platform and is comfortable learning other necessary software
  • Can multi-task and switch gears as needed
  • Has professional and sensitive telephone answering skills, the ability to transfer calls, and schedule appointments
  • Has a conscientious message-taking manner with timely delivery to staff
  • Greets families, vendors, and outside collaborators in a friendly and professional manner, directing them appropriately
  • Assists with clerical and data entry
  • Generates and publishes obituaries with consistent format to different media sources
  • Completes print and video tribute materials for funeral services

Office Responsibilities:

· Must have good overall computer sense with the ability to keep software & hardware updated and well-maintained

· Helps manage office and display materials, resources and inventory

· Helps manage proper working order of office equipment. Be able to troubleshoot, call for service, and obtain new equipment as needed

· Be familiar with databases, produce funeral statements, and update billing; support accounts receivable and payable

· Creates & updates contacts to be shared in Outlook

Qualifications:

· High school diploma required/ Associate degree (preferred)

· Clear driving history

· 2 + years of business/office experience

· Proficient in: Microsoft Office Suite, Facebook, and Google applications

· Familiar with photo-editing & data entry software

· Must be creative and feel comfortable putting together display and handout materials for services

· Interpersonal and customer service skills are paramount
