\nJA empowers students of all ages by connecting classroom learning with real life. Our programs foster financial capability\, encourage entrepreneurial thinking\, and provide tools for career and work readiness. \;The Paychex Junior Achievement Discovery Center is powerful example of this mission in action. \;
\n
\nThrough the Discovery Center programs\, middle and high school students engage directly with a simulated economy that resembles Rochester\, experiencing what it means to navigate adult life. With multiple classroom lessons to prepare them\, students immerse themselves in an authentic\, hands-on &ldquo\;mini economy&rdquo\; as employees\, entrepreneurs\, consumers\, and citizens. They manage local businesses\, earn wages\, open bank accounts\, vote\, and budget for needs and wants. \;
\n
\nThe Discovery Center is the first of its kind in New York State. \; \;Since opening in January 2024\, 4\,800 students participated in this innovative programming between January &ndash\; June 2024. More than 6\,400 students are expected to participate this academic year.

\nThe Chamber'\;s Friday Morning Business Networking gives regional business owners \;and \;business professionals the opportunity to network \;informally before the business day begins.
